YTP operates 6 tutoring centers located close to students’ homes making it convenient for families. Volunteers have an opportunity to interact with the women staying at the shelter and are asked to model a Ministry of Presence, being with women without imposing judgments or solutions. A few hours of your time each week (or even one or two times a month) can mean the difference in maintaining independence for our elders and persons with disabilities. Volunteers provide assistance with one or more tasks depending on their interests, skills, and availability. Tasks could include light housework, laundry, yard work, providing transportation to important medical appointments and to complete important tasks, shopping, moving and minor home repair. Are you short on time and unable to commit to an on-going volunteer assignment? Register to be on the on-call list for one time service requests.
