Volunteers assist elderly and disabled adults with household tasks, transportation to medical appointments, shopping, minor home repairs, yard care and other essential errands. WA State Patrol background check and signed confidentiality form required. Drivers must be 21 and over, have valid WA driver’s license, insurance and own vehicle. Time commitment varies: shopping and housework is usually twice a month, driving can be on-call or days and times you choose. We work with your schedule and preferences. Volunteer Chore Services desperately needs volunteer drivers to take low-income elderly clients to doctor appointments. These clients have no other way to get to their appointments; they either do not qualify for other programs, are not able to take the bus or live off the bus route. Please help us get these folks the medical attention they need! Drivers use their own cars and receive mileage reimbursement. Rides are dispatched by our staff and clear directions are given. Drive weekly or daily; whatever fits your schedule. Must have a valid WA drivers license and clean driving record, and will undergo a WA State Patrol background check.

Family Housing Network Summer Program Needs (Pierce County)

Volunteers are needed from July 1-31, 2013, to work with youth in the S.L.A.M. (Student Living in Mission) program. Hours are 10 AM – 2 PM, Monday-Thursday. Volunteers must pass WA State background check. Opportunities include assisting in classes with planned activities, outdoor activities during outings, and game time.
