SEATTLE, WA – Nearly 50 students, staff and parishioners from St. Luke Parish in Shoreline came together on a sunny fall day to spruce up Michael’s Place. Five teams split up to tackle house cleaning, yard work, painting, carpentry and tree cutting.
CCS’s Michael’s Place offers eighteen homeless male veterans transitional housing. All are in drug or alcohol recovery and/or have a mental health diagnosis. Michael’s Place offers onsite case managers who have all served in the military and are uniquely able to provide support for veterans moving from homelessness to housing.
Staff members, Lawrence and Kevin, along with resident veterans, shared stories that touched the hearts of all present. Thank you St. Luke for an incredible day of love, service and encounter. It was inspiring to see parish, school, and CCS come together for a meaningful cause!
