CCSWW has closed its Adoption Program as of December 31, 2021.
In an effort to honor our commitment and years of service to adoptees and families, CCSWW will continue to respond to court orders and judicial requests from outside Confidential Intermediaries (CIs). If you are a birth mother or an adult adoptee, the following are resources that you may find helpful:
Birth Certificates: If you would like to request a copy of your original/unaltered birth certificate, please visit the Washington State DOH website for more information.
Search and Reunions: In Washington State, there are independent court-approved Confidential Intermediaries (CIs) that can search for and on behalf of both birth mothers and adult adoptees born in Washington. A CI may be a helpful resource if you would like to access search and reunion services and/or obtain non-identifying information from your adoption file. A CI can get a court order from the appropriate court of jurisdiction and with the court’s permission, may be able to perform searches on your behalf. To learn more about the role and services of a CI, please see RCW 26.33.343. A CI can be located by performing an internet search. A court-approved CI can work in any county in Washington.
- Washington Adoptees Reunion Movement (WARM) is able to perform court-approved search and reunions using the Confidential Intermediary (CI) process as noted above. You can contact WARM at 206.767.9510 or at warm@warmsearch.org.
- Individual Court Appointed Confidential Intermediary: Carole Vandenbos, (206) 244-5134.
South Korean Adoptees:
If you are an adult adoptee who was placed with Eastern Social Welfare Society in Seoul, South Korea, please email Eastern Social Welfare Society directly at postadoption@eastern.or.kr. Please note: because this is an international agency located in South Korea, please be patient as it may take some time for them to respond to your inquiry.
