YTP operates 6 tutoring centers located close to students’ homes making it convenient for families. A few hours of your time each week (or even one or two times a month) can mean the difference in maintaining independence for our elders and persons with disabilities. Volunteers provide assistance with one or more tasks depending on their interests, skills, and availability. Tasks could include light housework, laundry, yard work, providing transportation to important medical appointments and to complete important tasks, shopping, moving and minor home repair. Are you short on time and unable to commit to an on-going volunteer assignment? Register to be on the on-call list for one time service requests. Volunteer Chore Services desperately needs volunteer drivers to take low-income elderly clients to doctor appointments. These clients have no other way to get to their appointments; they either do not qualify for other programs, are not able to take the bus or live off the bus route. Please help us get these folks the medical attention they need! Drivers use their own cars and receive mileage reimbursement. Rides are dispatched by our staff and clear directions are given. Drive weekly or daily; whatever fits your schedule. Must have a valid WA drivers license and clean driving record, and will undergo a WA State Patrol background check.
