The Youth Tutoring Program (YTP) of Catholic Community Services is an innovative and successful after-school/evening academic enrichment program for elementary, middle, and high school students who live in low and mixed-income housing communities in Seattle. YTP operates 6 tutoring centers located close to students’ homes making it convenient for families. Our students are wonderfully diverse—representing many nationalities, cultures, languages and religions and are primarily from low-income refugee and immigrant families.

A few hours of your time each week (or even one or two times a month) can mean the difference in maintaining independence for our elders and persons with disabilities. Volunteers provide assistance with one or more tasks depending on their interests, skills, and availability. Tasks could include light housework, laundry, yard work, providing transportation to important medical appointments and to complete important tasks, shopping, moving and minor home repair. Are you short on time and unable to commit to an on-going volunteer assignment? Register to be on the on-call list for one time service requests. Note: volunteers who drive as part of their volunteer task receive mileage reimbursement.

Phone Buddies provide older adults who might be feeling isolated and in need of social connection with support through a weekly phone call. Many of these individuals no longer have the friendships they once had and would greatly benefit from regular communication with another caring individual.
