Volunteers put together bags for families in need to pick up at Mercy House.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA – Catholic Community Services and St. Pius X Catholic Church received special funding from the Community Foundation of Snohomish County to distribute diapers, wipes and formula out to Snohomish County residents who have been impacted by COVID-19. Total funding was $67,500 for emergency response.

Two grants, totaling $37,500, were awarded to St. Pius X’s Mercy House to be administered through St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) and CCS’ PREPARES.

At St. Pius X – Mercy House, the SVDP team provides emergency rental assistance, utility assistance and food. They are joining forces with SVDP at St. Thomas More, Holy Rosary and also St. Elizabeth Ann Seton to reach more residents of south Snohomish County.  PREPARES serves pregnant women to help with needed things like prenatal referrals, diapers/wipes, formula, baby food or other needed items for babies or even parenting support.

The third grant for $30,000 was awarded to CCS to coordinate a Snohomish County wide diaper/wipe/formula distribution project to serve families impacted by COVID-19. CCS staff and our PREPARES program joined forces with community partners to coordinate a large scale diaper distribution throughout Snohomish County!

CCS Network Builder Erin Maguire unloads a truck full of diapers, wipes and formula as part of a large scale diaper drive to families in Snohomish County.

Our NW Region Network Builder from Snohomish County, joined by our King County Network Builder, were able to coordinate a 10 site distribution plan in order to get thousands of diapers/wipes/formula out to needy families.  PREPARES operates two of the 10 sites at St. Pius X (Mountlake Terrace) and also Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Everett). PREPARES received a total of $36,175 in total funding to assist with this effort.

Thank you Community Foundation of Snohomish County and community partners who have joined forces to help families in need.
