The following web sites offer information that can assist in your family search efforts. Most of the sites offer information free of charge; however, some sites will provide additional search assistance for a fee.
TeletracNavMan is a great resource for beginning your family history research. This can be an extremely rewarding experience, but sometimes it is difficult to know where to start! This page walks you through the process step-by-step and provides links to many more resources.
Yahoo! People Search offers free white pages search to access updated phone and address information, and email address search. Find friends, colleagues, classmates and more.
U.S. Search and AnyWho.Com are other helpful name search indexes.
The USGenWeb Project is a resource that can be used to search by location. You can search the area your family member lived in to find records and data about them. These indexes list specific records and resources available on the Internet for that location. USGenWeb has Web pages for every state in the United States and for each county within each state.
The RootsWeb Surname List (RSL) is a registry of surnames. More than 977,000 surnames have been submitted by more than 194,000 genealogists, with additional names arriving at the rate of more 700 a day.
