Katherine’s and Rita’s Houses are transitional housing programs for homeless, adult women in recovery from substance abuse. We offer structured, family style living designed to assist women to return to independent living as productive members of the community. Residents may stay up to two years and each resident develops a personal success plan tailored to her individual needs. Katherine’s and Rita’s House staff team consists of a full-time Program Manager, Case Manager, and Life Skills Coordinator. The team’s focus is on creating a safe environment that supports healthy lifestyle changes and nurtures each resident’s potential.

Resident Eligibility:

• Single Women
• 18 Year of age and older
• 30-60 days clean and sober from drugs/alcohol
• Enrolled in an Out-Patient Treatment Program

The women very much appreciate household items such as dish soap, sponges, new bed pillows, Kleenex tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, household cleaners, laundry pods, and dishwasher tabs.

Rita’s House has no overhead lighting in the bedrooms, so they’d wholeheartedly welcome lamps of all kinds—desk lamps, floor lamps, table lamps, and decorative lamps.

Both Rita’s House and Katherine’s House are in need of area rugs (any size, any color pattern). They’d also love to replace old mattresses with twin, full, or queen mattresses in excellent condition, along with some select bedding—especially mattress covers and bedskirts.

When a resident moves out, a room assessment is done. They may occasionally need to replace dressers, bed frames, desks, desk chairs, nightstands, and sometimes sofas, chairs, and loveseats. Donations of these items may be accepted depending on timing.

To help make the houses feel more like home, they also welcome decorations, throw pillows, wall art, knick-knacks, bulletin boards, and inspirational books.
