PREPARES

PREPARES (Pregnancy and Parenting Support) serves pregnant women and families with young children. Volunteers are needed to serve families with essentials like diapers and clothing, assist with parenting and play groups, and to walk one on one with parents in need of support during the early years of parenthood.

The work of PREPARES would not be possible without its network of dedicated volunteers and programs based in local Catholic parishes. If you are interested in becoming a PREPARES volunteer, please watch this short video to learn more about what it means to be involved with PREPARES.

About Volunteering with PREPARES

Volunteers can share experiences and give insight to young parents, and demonstrate healthy and functional parenting styles. Volunteers will celebrate their successes and provide a healthy environment to discuss what’s going on in their lives. Most importantly, volunteers can be an attentive and caring figure in a parent’s life.

Training & support for volunteers at PREPARES

All volunteers need to attend a volunteer orientation to learn about PREPARES as well as receive important rules and information about working with families. In addition, PREPARES may provide supplemental trainings on various topics such as mentoring throughout the year. Our staff members are available to answer any questions volunteers may have. To see a full list of volunteer opportunities, click on the "Volunteer" button at the top of the page.
