Volunteer drivers are needed on weekends and occasional weekdays to deliver meals from Nativity House Shelter to various Catholic Community Services shelter sites in Tacoma (all located relatively close to each other).

Nativity House Kitchen provides approximately 200 meals per mealtime at the shelter but also serves as the primary food hub supporting guests at the Stability Site, the Expansion Hotel and Family Housing Network. Additional meals are delivered to each of these sites to feed guests who are also experiencing homelessness.

The delivery route takes approximately 1 hour to complete (2-3 stops starting at Nativity House Shelter).

Food is picked up at Nativity House at 10:15 am on weekdays and at 10:30 am on weekends.

Volunteers will need to use their own private vehicles for food transport. Mileage is reimbursed at $0.51/mile.

Volunteers will be delivering boxes of sandwiches and prepared meals to each of the sites on their route. CCS Staff will load food into vehicles and unload at each of the stops.
