Car & Vehicle Donations
These gifts help generate proceeds that provide much-needed services to families and individuals in crisis. Vehicles in good running condition as well as non-running vehicles may be donated. CCS/CHS works with a third-party organization, Car Donating is Easy (CARS), to help facilitate car donations. IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution
If you are 70.5 or older, you may donate up to $100,000 per year directly from your traditional or Roth IRA to CCS/CHS. It can satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
Under RMD law, you are free to make annual gifts to CCS/CHS in the current year and well into the future.
Why Consider This Gift?
• Your gift will be put to use immediately, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.
• Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
• You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
As with any planned gift, it is important to talk to your financial or legal advisor.
